1.6 New Launcher Failure

Well, here I am, trying to update to the new 1.6 magical launcher. It really doesn't like me. So when I first get it, I launch it (duh). After doing that, I get an error message telling me that it can't download a file from the internet. Naturally, I check my internet security, and make sure that it should work. Nothing. So then , I force update my past minecraft to see if that does anything. Nothing. I then delete everything minecraft related, check for recent java updates, and attempt to reinstall minecraft and everything. Nothing. So I went to try and enjoy my last moments of 1.5.2, so I go to reinstall the old version of minecraft. It loads up and tells me it has "Failed to Launch". Getting desperate now I go to see if the 1.6 launcher works now. Before it told me an error message, not even a program pops up now. No error message, no nothing.

I am looking into all the little help support forums and mojang support. If you would have anything that would be of help to get minecraft back working for me, that would be great.

Try to update Java and make sure you are not using Java 5 this version no longer works with it.

Tried that, gave me the same error message.
