Not a ban, but a mute - PhilipT97

I have been muted.
I did not break the rules as stated on the rules page.
I was not advertising, not that that was against the stated rules, just making small talk
I would appreciate it if someone could tell me:
A) What I did wrong
B) How long this mute will last
C) Can I be un-muted
D) How can I avoid mutes in the future
E) Where it is stated to not talk about MC things outside of MCJ

something like:
> so there is this awesome server called mcedisney.us that has a 1:1 scale replica of the magic kingdom from disney
> *mcdisney.us
and then someone said:
> oh he is going to get banned
then someone said:
> who?
then he said:
> PhilipT97
then I was muted

oh, and should I mention it is not a freebuild server? (You cannot build at all on it)

You may not state the address of another server on the forums nor in the chat ingame. Contact the member outside of MCJ server and the MCJ community if you are going to state an IP without the Admin's permission, or staff (Under circumstances). That's the whole point of advertising.

I have collected that by now, but what I want to know is
A) Where it says that in the rules
B) Would I still be muted if I just said that there is a map (put on a server) that has the disney mk on it. (Without specifying any names)

IF you state the address or any direction towards it, it's considered advertisement. If the rules states no advertising (Not ingame rules, do not type /rules for the server rules) it includes all the previous.

That is just it, I have read the rules as stated
here three times, and the only thing I saw about chat was no being offensive and no exessive swearing.
EDIT: Also, would it be considered advertisement if I only talked about the single player map? (not about the server it was built on at all)

That's because there is no "no advertising" rule at the moment because somehow we forgot to put it in when re-writing the rules a few months ago. Boxes/Xero just screwed up.
The point of the "no advertising" rule is to not draw people away from our community into others. If you want to share a server with your friends, you can share anything you want to in private messages, or in Mumble. Just not in public chat.

I understand that I was advertising, but in my defence, I was misled by the rules.
Although I am against general advertising, IMO this is a special case. This is not a server that you can actually play on. You are not allowed to place or break blocks and there is not a community (that I know of). It is only so you can look at the map. Think of it as a single player map that you do not have to download. There is a single player map, though, but sometimes it catches on fire. You can (If you look hard enough) see a few people though.
I understand that this is not the opinion of other people, and am sorry. I do not care much about being muted anymore. I hope that advertising will be written back into the rules, to avoid future misunderstandings.
