Cannot log in, can you reset my position?

Post by Gman325 »

See this thread:http://www.minecraftjunkie.com/forum/vi ... f=3&t=1871

The same thing was happening to Lings and PMB tonight, and one of them logged in as I was teleporting to Spawn. Now I'm stuck in the floor ingame and every time I log in, I get the "Bad packet ID" error as a result. Is there any way to reset my position in the server without me being logged in? I fear without this, I will never be able to rejoin again.

Lings logged on the server today and crashed, it made gray, you and a few others to crash too, but me and brandon was still logged on so this is a really wierd bug or whatever I may call it.

It's unclear what exactly causes it, but we do know that it impacts both clients and the server in a big way, We may need to do some troubleshooting here... :( Stupid updates... stupid Java...

The same thing had happened to me but i had only thought it was nothing but java/minecraft being a pain in the ass. If it is a problem with the update i did see jeb posting on twitter that 1.4.3 was causing some problems and that they would test 1.4.4 in a snapshot type release.

I had also discovered a possible solutions, that was brought to my attention by Kaos. From my experience if you hit the "join server" button opposed to double clicking the server it will connect you fine. Hopefully this works for anyone still encountering said problem.(also a few typo corrections, I had meant 1.4.2 and 1.4.3)

I think it has to do with either something in spawn (as I usually get the crash when using /spawn) or an issue with server time, as it almost always happens between 9-11PM PST.

It is something with spawn, We're working on fixing it. The server will be retstarting more often now in an attempt to prevent the issue from happening too often

Is it a RAM leak thing?
