yes i updated it and it says the server is outdated

Yes, our server is at Minecraft version 1.3.2, so any other client versions unless 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 is not avalible to join.

can i downgrade?

Depends on if you have made a backup from the old 1.3.2 or 1.3.1 but yeah there is a possible other way to do it by searching for example; "downgrade minecraft to v.1.3.2". That example probably wont work but just experiment around and I am sure you will find something, good luck sir! :]

Oh and by the way we now have a temporary 1.4.2 server so you will not need to downgrade to 1.3, keep the version you have(1.4.2) and join in our temp server! :D The temporary server will last until all the plugins we need on the main server gets updated.
