Hey guys, if you might be wondering, 1.4 will be coming out shortly, if you would like to remain on the server until it updates just click "not now" on the update window when it come's out. Also, they are set for a release on Oct. 24th-25th (Can't remember...) As of today that is only 9-10 days away. So be ready. I just figured I would post this here to save Kommy some trouble by putting the info on how to keep you're current version. So yeah. I am excited for 1.4 (It WILL be a Halloween Update if you didn't know, the last Halloween update added the Nether if you didn't know). Feel free to discuss below I suppose. (Assuming Kommy is alright with that.

Will we need to restart the map for some of the new features, like what had to be done to get Emerald?

We may, but there really isn't much generation wise going on in 1.4. Mainly just Witch huts (If I recall that is it actually) So no, we won't. We didn't restart the map for Emeralds either. I think people just went far away. Not sure though. I know I didn't. Most of the features (The meat of the update) Are features supporting Map makers. Such as the command block and such. As well as the new mobs. But again, I don't recall any major parts of 1.4 coming with new Generation.

You are correct bfan, the only generation is the witch huts in swamps. this update if more about items and mobs and new blocks.

That would be up to Kommy. They posted a Pre-release today, Bukkit might be able to get an update out a day or two after 1.4 come's out. Then we won't need a Temp server, we will have to see though. I know MCP (Minecraft Coder Pack, The tool all modders use, unless they use forge) Was updated for 1.4 today so we can expect Bukkit to follow shortly after, and then the Plugins and such.
