Server status image??

Hey guys,
can people tell me if the server status image on the main site shows up to you as offline or it actually shows how many people on it???
Lately for me it shows as offline, so not sure if Im seeing what other people seeing.
I will crash you… Like we crashed capitalism…
Anyway… tech, geek, fps fanatic and now Minecraft junkie.
