Problem with player

I don't know if this is the right forum if it isn't it can be moved.

A player today by the name of Amtibe was on. I understand that the New World is a PVP area and Amtibe found me and killed me. After discovering with a staff member that was on at the time (Ken) that he griefed his way to where I was given everything back but my high leveled enchanted sword. According to rule #1 on the webpage, he should have been banned. Instead the next hour or so he continued to find his way into my own house, killing me in the process.

Many of the players on at the time were a great help and donated items (iliJesus and Ze) to me in which were taken from me when Amtibe repeatedly killed me.

There were problems with this player earlier in the day with a feud over griefing another players home and killing them, to which nothing was done. As well as when I was pleading my case and upset with Amtibe, multiple players commented on how he frequently griefs .

And before he signed off he announced that he was getting in by making his /home the inside of my house so he has an easy way to get in. This bugs me the most.

I just want to build and create and interact with people. I never ask to be attacked nor do I attack others. I understand that the New World is PVP. But also most players know PVP common courtesy not to PVP against someone that doesn't want to. For me I don't want to PVP except for fun. But there are players who just play the game to slay other defenseless players.

I know some staff members suggested that I build in the Old World. I would but nobody goes to the old world. Plus I have so much work put into my area and my area is right near a friend of mine's. We share a lot of projects and help each other out a lot. The area that I have built in and under is quite big with a bunch of redstone as well. The Old World is pre 1.8 as well so I don't get the terrain features/biomes that are 1.8 and up.

I could also Res my area but I don't think I have the money for the amount of land I would have it set for nor the ability.

I really just want to play on the server without having to deal with hooligans like Amtibe. I wish that the world was mainly safe with areas that are set up for PVP for those who enjoy doing it.

I'm sorry about the lost of your stuff and I want to ask... Why in Sam's Heck is this guy not jailed/banned yet?

PSA: There has been talk about making the new world non-PvP BUT the only way Kor will allow that is to make arena's ALL over the world. If everyone builds one near there house, grand or small, I'm sure we can get Kor to make those areas PvP only and that means no more open-world PvP...Or drama.
Also allow me to point out this guy mentioned above and deckerd have both griefed into houses saying it was for PvP reasons. (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

Well he isn't banned because he's done nothing ban-worthy. Here's a solution: Residence your house. PvP will automatically turn off when you do so. Problem solved

Sno I'd like to address a few points in your post there.

Firstly, The enchanted sword that you say he took from you. When you mentioned this to me I went to his house and I checked everything that he owned, and ti was no where to be found. We checked his inventory as well and it wasn't there. Which leads me to believe that he, like he said, didn't have the item. I under stand the annoyance of losing an enchanted item, but he really really doesn't have it.

Secondly, the accusation of his griefing. Digging into your house it not okay. But from what I've read if wasn't yoru home but your mine area that he ran into. This is kinda a gray area really, since it's not your place of residence (if you were to residence your house, it would likely not include this mine?) I'll let him know that this really isn't okay though, since it's basically one step away for breaking down a wall. The single account of grief that has been proven against him, was a few dirt blocks, that another player had done basicly the same to him. And he was jailed, and muted i believe, for 20m. Three dirt blocks for 20m of not being able to do anything on the server, Including chat, is a fair punishment.

Thirdly, the world pvp aspect. People whine about this all the time. And when you walk into spawn there's a few signs on this topic. Our world is a pvp world. When you're in the "New World" You're engaging in pvp. Yes most players don't want to spent the time to hunt you down, or chase after you. But it's been known to happen. Zera and I went on a personal mission one day, looking to cause a ruckus, and attacked three different towns, and the players inside them. I've seen at least two other staff members, and a few lower ranked people doing that same. It happens. If you don't want to be apart of it, move to the old world, or res your land and turn off pvp. Simple as that. Those are your options really. There's a large section of the old world that is 1.0 generated land, That you can get all the neat features with. If you're interested i can even take you there.

And as a quick last point, I'll have a talk to him about the /home in your base, That is def not okay. And I'll make sure it's delt with properly.

That would be a fantasic idea about the PVP arenas. Id gladly build one for people to kill me at!

Thanks for the reply Nicolu. I didn't know you checked for me. Thanks though! As for digging into my house, there was a clear path that Ken and I followed from the surface down into the area which he found me. Not a series of mines but a noob staircase. And let me clarify. I was not in a mine. I was in my railway system working on my rails when he killed me. He then proceeded to put up a sign mocking me (grief right there). And as for his jail time, it was not until about an hour after the incident that he was muted and jail. And for 20 minutes. Hell 20 minutes is nothing. Heck, I sometimes poop longer then that! Not much of a punishment.

As I said, I have no problem with the pvp aspect. Its when someone blatenly disregards rules to attack someone that I have a problem with. Some people even commented last night that he looked like he was flying around which I know is against the rules. Like I said I don't want to live in the old world. I've invested way too much into my area and the location.

I'm just a little upset that he was accused of grief multiple times yesterday and there were multiple players saying it. Yet staff did nothing to uphold the number 1 rule:

1. Don’t Grief – Griefing includes breaking any block that has been placed by another player, taking items from chests or otherwise making the life of another player difficult. If in doubt, ask a staff member before you take action. We will ban any griefers on sight. TNT is disabled on the server for this reason, and attempting to use will result in an instant and permanent ban.

BTW there is another accusation of his posted today on the forum.

I enjoy the majority of the community that plays. Never had a problem and everyone is willing to help out. Its a shame that there are those who act like this and ruin it for everyone. There were a lot of complaints again about him again when I was on during the day. I will be on tonight most likely. Probably later.
