If I could replace one member, it would be DrozKnight. Although I am sure Droz is an exceptional individual, and trust Junkie Admin's judgement, I haven't seen Droz on very much at the times which I play. This could very well be due to different play times however. Therefore I could be available during those times in which he is not.

Unfortunately for you, that friend/sibling is a jerk, and logs into your account while you are not in the house. I would tell the truth, and explain what happened. I trust the judgment of the staff, whether that be freedom or punishment and accept the consequences. Also measures would be taken to prevent this from happening again.

A week after becoming VIP and befriending some of the staff, you find out that Caldrin, Countypo, and TheDoleking are planning on faking a situation that would give them a reason to ban a user that they disliked on the server. This user is completely innocent, only being guilty of being annoying to the staff. You’re a new staff member and nobody really trusts you that much yet, and Caldrin/Countypo/TheDoleking are threatening to have you demoted and banned if you rat on them, and you have no evidence except for your word. How do you react to this situation?

I would explain the situation to a staff member besides those listed, and advocate the persecuted user's behalf. I would also explain to the Caldrin, Countypo, and TheDoleking that although the user is annoying, they still have the right to play on Junkie as long as they do not break the rules. Then I would place them in the user's shoes and explain that everyone has a different perception of annoyance, and to learn toleration.

I am applying, although I cannot guarantee I will be available 10 hours a week, since another busy semester is coming up. Thank you.

easy, i would take screenshots of there words against me and there plans and send them to kommy, injustice isnt a nice thing and i wouldnt let it happen, even if the screenshots dont work i will still fight for that member.

After a certain time off the server they should at least get a demotion to VIP if they haven't announced it on the forums or to a player.

I recently changed all my account settings and no one knows them at the moment,
If this should happen I would happily take any punishment the rest of the staff feel right.
I would apologize to anyone that may have been affected by my little care for protection for my account. If such should happen I believe that a ban is completely fair for this offense as it could deal a great loss for some players.

Take a screenshot, because evidence is the most important thing in this situation. ( as you would ) post it on the forums. I do have recording software on my computer (yes fraps) and I would probably record the whole thing.
Talk to as much other staff as possible, if any more mature staff or more experienced staff for their opinion on the situation.

Have you ever been jailed/banned? (If so, why/how many times): Once banned however that was shown to be a misunderstanding and all the relevant things were confirmed, i am not a criminal

1. Droz night, the first reason i think this is because he is no longer an active member. I very rarely see him on, secondly i have never seen him do much more than the normal VIP would do and so i do not see him furfilling the role as he could do. I also have not seen him on mumble for a while which is amy third and final reason. I believe that the staff team should be easy to contact and get help from. However i do not find this the case with Droz. I would like to make it clear i have no bias against Droz as he is a very nice member of the server.


2. I could not imagine myself in this situation because i take good measure in protecting my password. I have minecraft, the application itself, only launchable with a code and then a password to my account as normal. My computer also has two passwords on aswell as a numeric code. However if this somehow did occur i would make an appeal and explain the situation. If the staff felt that I was responsible then i would accept the punishment, if the staff felt i was responsible or even if not i would secure further ways of protecting my account.

I would talk to a high ranked member of the staff team and explain that i understand i am only a new staff, however i did hear that there was something going on between certain staff too get a user banned. I would tell the staff member that and then i would ask him/ her what they would like me too do. I would then follow their instructions, if the said staff refused to listen then i would protest on the forums passively and then appologise to the user that they have been a result of a scheme of the sort. I would then see if i could bring some sort of justice to the rightful group. I would make apologies to whoever i felt i owed them and i would do my best not to offend or upset anyone within the process.

I believe i would make a good VIP because i am an experienced, long standing member of the server and i am also expirienced at staffing servers. I used to work on a server as an Admin (which was approximately the Overlord equivelant). I also run my own server which means I also have a knowledge of the way servers work and how to code plugins, permissions and so on. I am familliar with many of the players on the server and i am able to communicate easily with many of the players on the server. I play on average for 3/4 hours a day and so i am always around and aware of what is going on, i check the forums every day and make posts on what i feel appropriate. I am good at knowing my place aswell and i do not get 'power crazy'. I also pride myself on the fact that i type properly, my posts in chat are correctly punctuated and capitalized in the correct places. I hope you find my application good and that you think i would make a good VIP on minecraft junkie.

Answer

If i was ever given the chance to replace any 6 of these members of the staff team i would have to choose Droz. Also seeing that Droz has recently stepped down from his current position i think it would be in the servers best interest to replace him on the MinecraftJunkie server. I feel that if Droz were to be more active on the server he could help much more with griefs, aiding other and new players and things such as PEX. It would be a very rational decision to switch Droz position to another player such as my self because i feel that i am very helpful, friendly and for the most part active. If Droz was demoted and had another player take his spot i feel that the server would run much smoother overall.

Answer

I have never and do not intend to ever give out my password to anyone, but in the event of a friend or sibling getting on my minecraft account and carrying out destructive tasks or being rude or condescending to other players on the MinecraftJunkie server. However if I was banned because of the actions of another, I would first appeal to my ban on the forums. I would calmly explain the situation, if the staff members still do not believe or accept my appeal i would then try to contact them on another platform such as mumble and try to explain the situation better and more personally. I would however not harass or annoy any staff member about my banning/demotion and i would except my demotion/ban and hope that they realize the mistake.

Answer

Firstly I would try to screenshot all the conversations they were having about it. I would then go to a staff member and private message them whether it be on MincraftJunkie its self, mumble etc. And explain to them the situation, I would also explain to them that if they find out i will be banned and demoted. If further proof is needed I would show the staff member that i had notified the screenshots I took of the conversations. I do not think in any circumstances that it is okay for a staff member or anyone else on the server to attempt to ban another player only because of a personal dislike of them.

Countypo is the person i have chosen for the reasons, He is mildy active now and only comes on when we get done with a game we play in mumble, He likes to mess around with people who don't like it when people mess with their land or even be near them at all, Count in his own way is this odd creature who toys with their prey and taunts those who oppose him . Although he takes the authority seriously his ego gets in the way.

I wish i had friends, or even a sibling. But i live with old people in a house with doors i lock because if my great grandmother got into a room she would clean it because she can't remember what remembering means. But if it did happen i would ask the person to say sorry to me and to you on mumble, then if you hadn't a change in heart i'd move on.

I would pm kommy and tell him the story and have him look at chat logs, i would then try and get screenshots and maybe a mumble or fraps recording. But since i know that caldrin has an iq above average and dole sensible in actions of authority and count as a witness of it that what they choose to do with the member fits with the way the user has acted, that this most likely would not happen but that is what i would do if it were to be done.

4th take my punishment like a sensible person AKA No crying getting angry
If it was on my account then its still my fault whether im doing the damage or not im basically letting him do it and i should be taking more care over my account

I would report the problem to kommy and let him know the truth must be told even if i get demoted for it
Also i would try to convince Caldrin/Countypo/TheDoleking to not do it they should know its wrong and they shouldn't be doing it
Because its only my word to be going on i would attempt to stop it by lingering around the area and keeping an eye on it to make sure they wouldn't try whilst no one is there keeping fraps or screenshots ready in-case they decided to go ahead with there plan and me and/or kommy had no luck in talking sense into them

The person who I would pick based on my short period of time on this server would have to be explodingboxes. Dont get me wrong, he is doing a great job but I just think I could do a better job then him
1. he doesnt mute people enough

2. he is not very good at just being a part of a group

3. Not really a thing against him being staff but he is a terrible builder

An example of him not muting people is with buster131. I have seen buster just spam chat saying the same thing over and over and over and over with almost nothing happening to him. what he really needs is a good day long mute. If that doesnt work you could just mute him forever.

While I might not be better then him I can say I will not make things worse for anyone and for some people i will probably make things better.

This actually happened on a different server with my younger brother where I got mod status and he got on and started reeking havoc everywhere and generally being a jerk. So what i did was make an apology on there forums and then got on the teamspeak server and made my brother apologies also. Everyone did accept it in the end. what happened to my brother you might hypothetically ask? Well lets just say he isnt going to be able to play on a computer for a very long time.

The first thing I would do would just ignore it for a couple days gaining the trust of caldrin and dole then after a couple more days of it with me joining in on it a little bit while silently recording it I would make it into the biggest spectacle that it could possible be. When the person who we have been making fun of and such says that I should also get in trouble I would just show the recordings of chat and such that I have and hope that Korthic and Kommy will listen to such a new member of the staff team.

At the risk of appearing to have joined the bandwagon, and hopefully not too greatly insulting should he be reading these, I will say Drozknight. Although I feel that I cannot properly answer this question due to my limited experience with many of the staff members, I cite the following reasons:

-. Practically everyone else is saying Drozknight. This is not an example of peer pressure but an understanding that the opinions of other members must always be taken into account. If you were actually running a "who should go" poll, Drozknight is a clear 'winner' and that is a reason why I would suggest his replacement.

-. I have simply never seen them online. I have been on holidays for the last few weeks, and spent vast amounts of time logged in to the server. Drozknight is a name that I had not known to be significant until this forum thread.

-. Forum activity suggests that Droz used to be quite active, then stopped. Posting every few days, then hasn't been seen since last August. Perhaps they have just gotten tired of the game. Perhaps they have found another server to spend time in. Either way, you are maintaining a staff member who simply no longer contributes.

I propose that I am suited to the VIP position because I spend an unhealthy amount of time here, actively monitor every new thread on the forums (without necessarily contributing, but contributions are not always necessary), and live in a timezone that is different from most current staff members - thus active and online during the usual "down times", where defaults log on to find (in some cases) only me and another online. I have not participated in any kind of interpersonal drama among the members, I have no enemies, I do not join in with PvP, nor have I been jailed or banned for any reason.

My occupation is academic library technician (among other roles in the school). I run an intranet-based minecraft server for short durations four days a week, which hosts 25 active student players at a time. This means I have experience in a range of plugins (worldedit, worldguard, essentials, etc) and in player dispute resolution. The latter has been especially important as the players are within hitting distance of one another.

I have noticed, and in fact I have informed people myself, that bans are applied to accounts, not to the people behind them. Far too often we see defaults griefing only to say "It was my brother using my comp!". So often, in fact, that I could hardly expect anyone to believe me if I said the same, even if it were true. Knowing that the violation could not be argued in any useful way, depending on the severity of the infraction I would appeal to be demoted rather than banned, on the basis of the significant time investment I have put into this server.

Standard procedure in any workplace would apply here - that is, to gather as much evidence as possible, and present it to the relevant person in the next higher level of authority. You have stated that my only evidence is my word, so the process of information gathering will be difficult but necessary. I trust that the administration has made wise choices in their selection of "higher ups" - if I didn't trust them, then what's the point of my even being here? - so my first step would be to contact one of them to at least inform them of what has happened and the fact that I am gathering evidence. I would then seek this further evidence by appealing directly to Kommy, who would have Mumble and server chat logs from the computer. After having done that, the situation is out of my hands, and I can only trust that due process will run its course.
