Lottery Idea

I started to think of this last night while looking at my slot machine, the server should have a lottery type of context. For example, a player would give a diamond/gold/iron to the moderator and have the ability to pick two random numbers (00-99) (this can also be changes to 000-999 but that would leave 1000 different possiblities and I thought 100 was enough for this game). Every week, lets just say Saturday, the moderator will use a random number generator and the person who picks the closest number without going over gets the prize of all the valuables that were gained in the lottery.

My idea is to have point system for each item:
•1 diamond = 50 points
•1 gold ingot = 10 points
•1 iron ingot = 5 points
•$10 = 1 point

Everytime someone wants play, they must put in 50 points into the lottery.

Tell me how you all like this idea, and if there is enough people willing to do this, I would volenteer to be the moderator for the first games until someone else wants to take over.

One: I like this idea, but what are the prizes? If we are to spawn them, which we may or may not due (We are still being vanilla!) then that could contribute to your plan.

The prize is all of the diamond/gold/iron that was used to enter the game unless anyone has any other ideas to add to the prize portion of the game. It works like a normal lottery, people pay to play it and if they win they get the money that everyone else paid to play it.

I think you should be able to enter $10 for each point as well, then also put that in with the prizes.

That is a good idea having money involved too. The only thing is that the moderator has to be completely trust worthy and not steal from the lottery. When I do start this and start looking for a replacement there will have to be a background check.

I was actually looking on the bukkit plug-ins and i saw a lottery plug-in. Maybe the admins can try to put this on th server and probably have information on how to use somewhere at the SuperMall or something. Just a suggestion...
