Minecraft Junkie

I've recently noticed some confusion on the server with the addition of the money for voting system. Some players seem to have difficulties understanding where to go on the website and how to go about voting. This is a small problem but I think the solution would be fairly easy as well. I think it would be a small but easy addition to add a /vote command. I think this would make it much more efficient to vote for the newer players. We could make it behave alike a link, where when the command is typed in it brings you straight to the website voting page.

I'm not sure how easy/difficult this would be to add for such a small thing or if a similar command exists, but I feel if players had easier access to the command this would add even more incentive to vote for the server.

All I am looking for is some feed back as to if my idea is plausible.

I really don't think it would be that hard, but, I don't think there is a coder. Kommy just puts the plugins on (As far as I know) He doesn't make any of them or anything. But, if we could find someone that knew how to do that, or a plugin for something like that, that would be much easier.

Yeah. The program would need to know which lists to vote on, be able to grab your username, and get picked up by the reward plugin.

A more feasible option, IMO, would be to make a stickied forum thread that contained all the links to vote lists, and advertise said thread on the server via announcements. This could have the beneficial side effect of making our players more aware of the forums, which would further reinforce the community offered at MCJ.

Okay, a few things I have to say here.
1) If there is a way to setup a command and someone will figure it out and do it, that would be pretty cool.
2) Gman, I understand your point of view, but most members are not on the forums at all.
3) there is a thread with it, not sure if its sticky
4) If it comes down to adding a plugin, not worth it.
5) in the end ALL stuff like this comes down to Kommy. And at this point he literally has no spare time XD
6) Its a pretty cool idea if all of it works out.

Sometimes I get lazy and forget to vote every day but with this it would be a lot easier. Maybe have /vote 1-6 for the 6 sites and for example you can just do /vote 2 and it could bring you to second vote page and if thats to hard/impossible at least have /vote with the links?

It is not possible for the minecraft server to run any command that will force your minecraft client to open a webpage. That sort of thing would be open to all sorts of abuse by server owners and would royally annoy a great many users.

The best that could be done is one similar to /donate, with links that you could then click on to visit the voting webpages.

Just to respond to the idea of a forum thread with all the links, there is one somewhere and all the links can be found on the minecraft junkie home page.

yea I wish I could do that but the best for now is that they type in /vote and it shows them the link. All they have to do is to click on it and it will open the page with all the individual links and from there its easy

Hm. Yeah Kommy, i recently joined a PvP minecraft server where the command does just that. It would be great if it is at all possible to add a command such as this.
