Another Failed Attempt, a Community Ignored

If you have yet to notice that we have established a new pvp world to comfort those of us who were denied what we believed was fun for so very long. This world contains no plugins which leaves the classic strategic warfare we all used to love, but wait there's a catch; this world is a copy of the terrible temp server seed we used for the last update.

Which now brings me to the topic of our comments being completely ignored, for example, Larger Biomes are not happening. The pvp system we use is THE SAME which caused the problems to arise in the first place. Our creative alternatives were ignored, such as using a plugin to turn on pvp for a player(activated by admins only) with a massive cash price to revert the choice back to peaceful to avoid arguments and grudges. The major problem with this new world is that it has no purpose what so ever, its basically just an arena to slap people in because no one stays there long enough to actually progress. They refuse to progress because it forces you to start over from scratch. The thing that made New World(the most common world) so fun and interesting was the advance into new land that's been untouched with your possessions and clansmen. That gives you the feeling of that american pilgrimage to the west and fuck is it an amazing feeling.

On the issue of this now aging over powered pvp system called MCMMO leaves us 1 to 2 year veterans the only superpowers which then dominates all new members in making their experience here a terrible one. I feel a little downed to say i have no idea's about an alternative system to use, but we cant make the same mistake with Siberia. NO SUPERNATURAL plugins or anything like it. We need to find something like HERO'S. this plugin was an ultimate success that lead to collapse with supernatural. I know it was very unstable an glitchy but even through that it put a deffinate smile on everyone's face when they experienced this amazing plugin. We need another Hero plugin to push our advance in saving this amazing server.

In my opinion and this is only an opinion. All those people that complained about pvp are gone, yes gone because they have nothing to play for without multiplayer combat keeping them in touch with the community after being alone for so long they eventually rally to a town or city with their new found friends. The people that complain are in the first stage of being forged into a pvper, the complainer, a lonesome noob living by him/herself getting attacked by other noobs. Floods of people flocked to our now BARREN towns and cites for protection and organization that leads them to become great members of society on this server. Those exact "members of society" are your VIP, Staff, Overlords, and Admins. Today were are all alone in a way there is now no real reason to band together other than to look cool or hangout for company. Most of us live in isolation from other members, like me for example. living 20-50 thousand blocks away from spawn only to see the comport of another player due to a tp or an event going on at an arena or spawn. I feel like I am the only one missing the new faces passing my doorstep to be introduced with either a blade or a friendly shake of the hand.

Have you ever noticed that we had more players with pvp then we do without it, even with the drama and hate it caused. That is what pvp is about, rivaling people against each other even if friendships are broken. Being in a town or city when this happens brinks the epic experience of war between 2 factions across the battle field.

Now with the creation of my new city that's due date estimates to this time next year, in which i vow to complete. I plan to bring attributes from all servers i have seen in my time such as another server that leads to crime and crime bent quest to be available with a whole new semi-Ranking ranking system to get players something to look forward to. As well as a Justice system to hold back these criminals. Both create a new income format instead of my current abusive slavery program. Another influence on me was business and corporations that will be announced in my 20 page documents at a later date if you're interested. It's necessarily long due to the complicated systems in equalizing money balance in our plugins for minecraft which is applied to inflation and corruption.

If you too believe that such ideas like these can help our server, then please fight with me to forge and mold this community into a memorial place to be

*on a side note, the city can be completed ten times as fast with creative mode, if you trust me with such a thing, my documents and the city itself will be donated to the server with few limitations, such as me being in charge of the city of course*

-Ken out!

I have to agree with the HERO'S plugin jumpstarting the server during the creation of Siberia. My favorite part, and most likely Ken's too, was leveling up my mage powers for the goal to become more powerful and a choice between the light and dark side of the powers. I can still remember the clan we started to create full of mages, assassins, rogues, and priests. There was a nice sense of unity between us, all while the threat of war lingered over us from all the other factions throughout the land. Supernaturals brought dismay and anger to this joyful land, taking away our valued skill we worked so hard to acquire and forced us to decide to become a werewolf, vampire, ghost and whatever else that failed experiment brought us. Yes, I know that the HERO'S plugin was bugged and messed with the main New World experience meter, making vanilla leveling impossible. Hopefully we could find a plugin that would suits us like HERO'S did.

I believe I have said this before, but I remember when I first joined the server. It was the creation of New World, right after the 1.8 update I believe, and after a fair number of people moved to the new land and the temp-temp spawn was created (when it was still just a red outline signifying this was safe and this wasn't) clans were quickly made and battles were held among opposing clans at the spawn. That was the most fun for me on this server. The prepping for battle, the holding of a near unpenetrable fort, the overall war aspect of PvP. This was also my first taste of PvP and I loved it. My PvP love has dwindled quite a bit since then to now when I seldom would be seen near any PvP activity.

Now that I have been on the server for over a year now, I have acquired a decently well off amount of MCMMO skills. The numerous passive skills are a great was to make the Minecraft experience easier and more fun. Double drops have greatly helped in stock piles of various, sometimes useless, materials to aid in building my many structures structures. They can also help me get money through selling my over flowing amount of items at either my personal shop or the admin shop. But the aggressive, battle oriented skills I feel have taken over the PvP arenas, leaving the less powerful left off to me slaughtered by the servers more senior members. After we gained the player head plugin, I admit to going to Thorn to acquire heads for display. People would over power the arena with their amazingly high unarmed, sword and axe levels that they would one or two hit you before you fall defeated. This makes PvP less fulfilling, especially for the new members of the server who just want to try to get a head to display proudly in their base.

I personally cannot wait until the Seireitei is completed, or at least half complete so I can see more from the Dynmap. The society in the city is a brilliant idea and I would be proud to be a resident of the glorious city and make a living there. If you ever need help with it (although I'm pretty sure you won't accept any) I'm usually not doing much.

Good luck Ken with your fight for this change.

The current idea that most of the people i have talked to about pvp in newworld agree on is to make it so that Overlords will have a command to change the pvp status for a person.

The first time we change it will be free and every change after that will cost money. We also need to make some new rules around the fact that people can disable pvp such as

1. if you have pvp disabled then you can not go with someone who is out hunting people for the purpose of picking up the items that drop.

2. we will also have all the rules we currently have dealing with pvp

3. we need kommy to remove peoples ability to change the Move and PVP flag in a residence.

Kenny, you signed up on the forums on September 9th, 2012. Beta 1.8 came out about five days later, and the "New World" about two weeks later. You probably don't remember what the server used to be like with one world by now, but I do. PVP is definitely a contributing factor to the problem here, but our server didn't thrive for nearly a year without PVP by chance. Two major things changed when we added the New World. First, PVP was added. Secondly, the Warp and Stargate plugins were forbidden from being used in the New World (with the exception of Spawn). I don't know why most of our Staff team is so against it, but those two plugins are what connected our server before the New World. We have MANY towns in the Old World. Go there sometime. Check out the lists of places on the Stargate sign or the /warp list. They connected every single populated town or group or big project by someone with a lot of cash to buy a Stargate. All the problems you're mentioning are due to an unconnected community. The Old World connected it all. And now that PVP's gone, the New World is no different with the exception that everyone's unconnected from everyone else.

PVP is its own problem and definitely a contributor to some of the things you've mentioned. But I basically stopped playing Minecraft, not because of the PVP, but because it was so hard to get around. If I wanted to visit any player, I either had to walk THOUSANDS of blocks and hope I wasn't jumped along the way, ask for a TPA (people are usually a little more resistant to accepting those than just seeing someone show up as a guest), or use my mod powers to teleport myself there. Whereas in the Old World all I had to do was find the town or community they lived in on the warp/stargate list and literally just pop over to say hi.

First i'd just like to say I remember the server before the new world and I really enjoyed it. There was very little arguing/problems until the pvp began. Although I enjoyed the pvp at the new spawn (red wool boundary one) it probably wasn't worth all the complaining and drama which continued as pvp grew. I agree county, The warps and star gates were a very commonly used and helpful way to connect with others on the server and it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them in the new world. And ken, I would be on board with you if there was a way to have pvp and peace at the same time if you get what I mean. I regret some of the times I pvped and others were very fun, of course it won't always be enjoyable but if we can all come together and agree on certain things we could make it happen. No matter what happens a problem will always come up due to pvp though.

Also, county miss typed 2012 instead of 2011 I believe.
