Keep the temp server map!

I just wanna say, I like my build on the temp map, and I know others that feel the same. Maybe we oughta hold onto it for the next time MC updates and we go to a temp server again,

the thing is Gman we create a new world for temp every time BECAUUSSSEEEE:::::
-possible new terrain generation
-new materials
-means that everyone starts off at the same point so its fair on other members who haven't yet played in that world
-also means that allocated mods have something to do (build spawn ETC) instead of the same old stuff they do on the main server.
-AND FINALLY for most people, its more fun to start over than to carry on with the stuff you already have
plus i think kommy deletes the map as soon as hes sure everything is working on the main anyways :/
maybe we could use the map for something else in the main server but as far as i know its just going to get deleted anyways because most of the structures look like SHIT after being griefed ... blown up ... lavamacated ... watermacated ... burnamacated and whateverelseamacted you can think of. without certain plugins we cant roll this stuff back ... and lets face it, who wants a shitty looking structures on their server map??
so der you go its more beneficial to restart than to carry on

Just an idea about the temp server though is to make a world in the normal server 100% vinila no mods or anything and have no rules besides having a vinila mc jar file, so no xray and stuff.

well then im out cos minecraft without optifine on my computer = LOOSE and blue screens and not fun times

i like Kolo's idea about no mods, but maby since theres no protection plugins it needd to be Staff+ only

Nah lets just allow griefing and mods like optifine ya there fine but no hacking mods. Griefing is debatable ya we can have it and it can be like factions making TNT canons to blow up houses and raid them but it will also just make the world look messy like shit.

But staff+ are trusted to not really grief badly unlike somebody who just joined would grief like crazy, i just dont like the mods that help like mining skill and /home and warps... just game changers like those

kommy told me that he does want something like an anarchy world on the main server so this might happen. a couple of ideas i have is
1. world gets wiped every month that way it stays fresh
2. have some part of mcmmo, not sure if all or just the combat/gathering skills
3. some designated safe towns would be nice
cant think of others right now but some other ideas would be nice

Boxes, i agree with your first and third points, but i think that a world like that should be as close to vanilla as aloud.
EDIT:
some other idea's for rules and stuff:
world gets reset every, month or two maybe.
funny or not huge stuff is fine, Obliterating something is a no no
members+ might be a idea, to make people want to sign up more

I've always wanted something like this on the main server gonna be honest. But I thought something like COMPLETELY vanilla. I know I may sound kinda like a fan-boy saying this but kinda like Mindcrack, if you know what it is. I always thought it would cool to be on a server were everyone helps each other by dropping off gifts and having to travel through the nether to get from base to base. Instead of typing in /tpa (player name).
Also my thoughts on the anarchy world type thing, if we did do something like this we should set up world boundres so that there would be constant pvp, and when you go out hunting for people you wouldn't need to travel a light-year to get a kill. Also In regard to the mcmmo, I think that in an anarchy world we should have mcmmo disabled simple because some new people come on the server being two hit by an axe user and say "DUDE THAT THE &%$#, HE TWO HIT ME WITH AN AXE". Also due to the fact that pvp is alot funner without mcmmo IMO because there is more startegie around it other then, right click with diamond sword, win! Instead there is the whole right click left click thing. And were a bow doesn't @#$%^& one hit someone and make them go home crying. Also back to the Anarchy world style thing, I think that rules should be limited to no hacked clients such as x-ray and nodus. But also no factions, cause well I don't think its ever worked well. So people can say group up with a few friends make an underground lair and hunt kids down.
Just my thoughts on the whole matter
