Aaaactually I was promoted to staff several MONTHS after joining when we had a community of less than fifty (would be near-equivalent of waiting over a year to get staff on our server as it is today). Nobody was promoted because they were on first. Malifore sure wasn't. He's way older and more mature than me and was on the server about a week before me. I was promoted to staff because I was active, helpful, caught griefers, reported server problems quickly to John, built the first two cities, developed friendships with the admins and other active members, and was generally liked by the entire community.
If you think I've suddenly gotten "worse" or "changed", you're gravely mistaken lol. Go talk to Brandon539 or Caldrin or Fabeth or Nicolu. Go ask them how many times I've both purposefully and accidentally killed them, lit them on fire, scorched them with lava (Brandon STILL complains about his first pair of Diamond Boots being lost by my hands), accidentally crashed the server, etc.
That's...not abusing powers like a four year old lol. That's just being mildly mischievousness and stupid. Abusive is finding a small fault in a user, banning him, telling all other staff to shut up, and lying to the admins to take him off the server. Abusive is telling someone that his life is going to become a living hell because they were told that they built badly. Abusive is being told that they were going to be demoted for inactivity, and then going onto a three hour rage spree in which they insulted every staff, told a user to commit suicide, and then griefed/poured lava on all of their structures before quitting. Abusive is slandering all the staff team behind their backs, and then duping diamonds to boost their mcMMO skill.
If I was doing anything that was seriously causing a problem, then I would be told by the staff to stop it. Not, "come on you've had your fun, now enough is enough", stop it. I mean "This is serious, cut the crap or you're going to be in trouble, Typo". Nobody's come and told me that. What I've done isn't really that bad or serious at all. It's just been blown a bit out of proportion by you, which I completely understand why because I blew things up 100x worse than anything you just said when I was your age.
