If that's really what you think is best for mcj...
Another server I know keeps accounts of how much each member has donated. People can even donate on behalf of each other. Could we do something similar?

There have been rules made that people broke before it was instated and there was no punishment. Also donating shouldn't be compared to in-game rules as we have actually put our own money towards the server to help it, we should at least get new perks when they are announced for the price we payed.

Donations ARE tracked and accumulated, From here on out. This is what Kommy and I decided on would be best for the server, I don't understand why it's being debated. :/

It's being debated because people that have donated in the past want the new perks in which they paid for. when you say from here on out does that mean that people that donate now are tracked and will get new perks? If so it's not fair to not give the other donators the same.

Rocky, you do realize you're not going to "win" this debate, right?

If it is easy to see who donated what, it would be a simple matter to go back and adjust accordingly, and if not, then it would be very difficult. How about we give all past donors a base donation perk level, that includes any new perks, and can be built from there.

The only way to go back and retrofit previous donations is to remember who and how much. The only person who knows this information is Kommy, and the donator.

BTW, how did the other server kept track of it. Was it automatic like a plugin or something else??
Also, Im just having a hard time making people put in their username in comments under donations which makes it even harder to track their donation. Half of the time they have different email on their paypal and if Im able to track their email to their forum username, half of the time its different of their ingame name.
I don't know anymore how many posts and highlights and me saying it that please oh please put in your ingame ID in comments when donating. Otherwise I have to wait for user to pm me and then backtrack it.

I'm not trying to "win" this "debate" I'm just saying it's not fair to not give the new perks if people in the past donated the same amount and got less. If people knew this before they donated I'm sure there would be less donations.

Rocky, it WOULD be fair if everyone that donated in the past got the additional perks that are added to those donation ranks. But doing that would require a list of everyone that's donated and exactly how much they did, which would only be obtainable by Kommy. If that were easy, I'm sure he would have just taken ten minutes to either post all the donators here or message them to one of our Community Managers. But as he stated in his most recent post, that wouldn't be an easy task because so many people didn't put their names in with their donations. It was hard enough for Kommy to find out who donated in the first place. Because of this, we can't give additional perks to anyone, because if we give them to one then everyone will want it. It's best (for now) just to go with what Nico said and let those who donate receive what they knew were the perks at the time. And if/when in the future we have a better method to easily accumulate/compile the donators' names & their donations, then we can talk about distributing the extra perks.
