I myself think this is perfect, but I have a question, will TNT be enabled? If so I would be able to work on so many projects I've had running around in my head.

I will enable TNT and see how it goes. If it messes the server up I will have to disable it again.
The only thing- we will protect the main spawn area and fire spread.
Eventually IM thinking we will build safe structures and have gates in them between spawn and safe structures, otherwise nothing- very vanilla and no tp or spawn commands

i am still for pvp re-enabled pvp in the main world with a restructure of pvp rules
a couple i have thought about are
1. a command a person can enter to disable pvp
a. the command would take time to take effect i was thinking something outrages like 24h
b. a person who has pvp disabled can not go with someone who is pvping to pick up item or otherwise interfer with the battle
c. as an incentive to become a member defaults can not use command.
2. i think somewhere in essentials there is a tp immunity thing that vips could use so that when they tp to people they could not be hurt by people nor could they hurt people.
3. all the other rules that we did have should still be there unless someone can thing of one that needs to be looked at.

If you are talking about the new world, then if the person has the ability to disable and enable pvp, they simply could do that right as someone is attacking them, this would cause drama x10 if it goes the way I'm seeing it..

Billy rages John protests
John lies, Billy gets banned
There shouldn't be commands to disable or enable anything in the vanilla world, but just pure vanilla.

I still think that for new world pvp, VIP+ or Staff+ only should be able to toggle other peoples pvp. This way they could choose not to pvp if they don't want to. That way there will be no situations like xero suggested.
If a staff team member abused this power, then they would be punished

i knew that it would cause drama so i put in that when you enter the command it should take time to take effect that way people cant do exactly what you described.
Also make it a rules that people with pvp off cant go with someone who who is pvping to just take the items people drop

So I just had a thought. Could we put a MOTD on the server teling players to come vote? Many of our regulars don't participate In forum discussions and will miss this, but it affects them as well. I feel like we at least ought to let them know.
Or maybe Boxes could use his IRC powerz to replace his "test" message with an advert about this.
