1.4 Temp Server Discussion Thread [ALL COMMENT]

So right now there's a huge argument in Mumble about potentially having a temporary server for the new coming update like we have for a lot of the previous Minecraft updates. Everyone comment your opinion if we should have one or not. We have no idea if we will or not so we wanna know what everyone thinks!

I enjoy temp servers, its fun to mess around with new features and such, but it is hard work to keep it running, so if you need help, im available

My vote is a yes. I gotta say before the update last time I was getting really bored of minecraft and having to restart made the game fun for me again. Also we could have like MinecraftdaWeen, xD.

Temp servers I think is a mess, three reasons: -1- Grief is unstable without grief-protection plugins, getting griefed is the most annoying thing to happen. -2- Temp servers needs staff online 24/7 to make it "safe"(Unless we disable PvP). -3- Isnt it enough to play s/c-sp by backuping the old 1.3.2 .minecraft? Well temp servers always makes plenty of topics on our forums about angry members that does not get what they want(example: items back after unfair PvP like spawn PvP) or some grief etc.

Testing the new features is cool, especially in this update which is a halloween special but still, no, keep 1.3.2 until the plugins we need for Junkie for 1.4.2 comes out.

My vote is no.

Your first 2 points are basically the same, why does it matter when its a TEMP server AND if you don't wanna be griefed live far away, its not that hard. Point 3 usually has something to do with people getting upset over a TEMP server. It's supposed to be fun so don't make anyone else mad by caring about getting griefed, once again, on a TEMP server. Enjoy it and if you don't want to then go play boring singleplayer. I am not directing this to you olav but, to all the others that are saying no and possibly disallowing another amazing junkie temp server. I hope this clues up, I hope that there is a temp server but if not I'll just wait, it's not a huge deal and should happen for the people of the server to enjoy.

I am not to be mean or direct this at anyone but I feel the temp servers bring us back into the game when some people are becoming board of it after all this time. Updates are huge on MC. Temp servers can be very enjoyable and a way to try out all the new things.
