Economy / Money in the new world

Just a short post to let everyone know, because of the way we're setting up the new world, Everyone's /money is going to be reset. DON'T PANIC.

We'll be saving the files that tell us how much you have, and manually resetting them. You're going to have to ASK for them to be reset.. So be patient. Ask Boxes, or I to set you back to what you had before the wipe, and we'll try to do it then and there, but things do come up. If for some reason we can't.. please be nice. Realize we're all human.

TL:DR Money's going to wipe - we'll manually fix it over time.

how are we going to be doing this? Is kommy going to make a google docs spreadsheet with all 14000 peoples names on it and only give himself nico and i access to edit it and when someone asks to have there money reset we go in check there name and give them there money back and write Done next to there name? because that sounds like the perfect way to do it if we need to do it by hand.

Im gonna save all the essentials files with gamer data and I can upload it to drop box. I doubt it that everybody will complain about money cause they will get new 50 grand and lots of people are broke. So mostly rich users will complain, lol.
So if somebody complains, all you have to do is to open the folder and see the username.dat file and open it with notepad plus plus and you will see line there with money.

i was thinking about what if someone got there money back from say me then I log off and they then give all but 50k of there money to a friend and then they ask nico for their money back she would not know that i already did that. if there is an easy way to do it could you filster out from the list everyone who already has 50k or below and make that a spreadsheet?

Caldrin and I should also get access to the list since we have the give/take economy permissions. Two extra hands will make everything easier.

I dont think I can do that, cause there an individual file for each player. hmm

I just looked up in game how many "accounts" have about 50k and its only 325 "accounts", i use quotes because most of them are just accounts made when someone votes under a name that has never been on the server so we only have about 182 actual accounts with over $50k so its not that many people so hopefully you can find a way to separate the money.

if that doesnt work then we can make a google docs file and input the names of people who we have given the money back for .

You probably only have to take note of the accounts that have more than the starting 50k. I highly doubt anyone who currently has less will ask to have their money reset.

If there's only 182 people with over 50k in the game, then if we can't find a simple way, we can just manually take screenshots of them all a day or two before we switch over and then manually give the money back from those. We could split the work up between us all so nobody overlaps (Boxes gets #1-30, I get #31-60, etc) and get everyone's money to them fairly quickly.

That would work. Or we can do the Google docs with who we did when they ask, like boxes said. Whatever works.
