1.7 is going to add new biomes, only worsening this problem since everyone is going to want to explore and/or move to those.

Could the old world be deleted to reduce server stress? it seems like there's not a lot of people who actually play in it. Perhaps those few could be negotiated with?

How about we delete vanilla world, No one uses it or cares about it.

The vanilla world doesnt take up much space, something that would probably be good to look into would be residence since the server seems to be working pretty well without it. we need to look into removing most of the old residences from people who dont live there anymore or dont come online any more.

the server is down and will be down for a couple more hours. when it is back up it will be a temp server for a couple days until kommy's new hard drive shows up and he has time to work on the server.

Like my previous conversations. I think we need to aggressively look to trim some plugins. I know tombstone and stargate pretty much dead. I think creating a new blank world would solve somebifbthebproblems. Our current worlds are just too damn big. I dont mind keeping them as secondary worlds. I don't think those worlds will put too much load when most people migrate to a new world. We would have to stop with fast travels like stargates in these worlds except official portals taking people to a certain official point if interests.
Also is there a setting to make biomes denser?

There is a large biomes setting when you create a new world. i have no idea how it works for server but i would imagine that you would be able to import a world with multiverse

By denser do you mean packed with more stuff?
Temples and Villages are the biggest reasons people have been expanding the map. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to make those more common.
